WebMux plays an important role in the network infrastructure with a core function to manage and deliver securely and reliably local data traffic for applications and services to and from the internal network of servers or server farms (both physical and virtual).


AVANU’s WebMux Network Traffic Manager is a robust and affordable server load balancer using the 64-bit processor platform and intensive algorithms that provide the high capacity, reliability, and availability to manage, control, and secure local network Layers 4-7 traffic. In 2005, Microsoft® chose WebMux as one of the first three hardware load balancer (HLB) to support its Unified Communications (UC) Office Live Communications Server (LCS)  platform (today’s Skype® for Business Server 2015), because of WebMux’s excellent features, performance, reliability, and affordability.  WebMux has evolved providing load balancing functions to many popular applications from other world-class companies including Cisco®, IBM®, and Oracle®.  The applications and services include Lync® Server, Exchange® Server, SharePoint®, Internet Information Services (IIS) for Windows® Serve, WebLogic®, WebSphere®, UC (unified messaging, IM presence, team collaboration, audio/web/video conferencing, mobility, and VoIP), databases, FTP, POP, terminal servers, and web servers to name a few.

WebMux is available as an appliance or virtual edition.  AVANU uses the best-in-class server-grade hardware with up to 16-core CPU processing power to build WebMux providing outstanding performance and durability.


AVANU adds product value by placing customers first, from designing the user interface and features to customer support services. The WebMux setup and configuration wizards remove the need for any scripting and make the deployment of WebMux quick and easy for popular applications and services including Microsoft Skype® for Business Server, Lync® Server, Exchange 2010 and 2013 Server, SharePoint®, LiteScape, Pexip® Infinity, Oracle WebLogic®, IBM WebSphere®, terminal services, and HTTP/HTTPS servers. WebMux appliance models offer performance scalability supporting 1 to 10GbE copper or 10GbE Fiber SFP+ (SR or LR) interface. All models support dual hot-swap power supplies and monitor traffic history. WebMux’s Flood Control® feature was developed specifically for a United States Department of Defense service organization to provide protection on their servers against Denial of Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks at the IP/UDP level. Some models have an IPMI port for remote IPMI services, including remote power on/off for soft/hard resets, monitor temperature, and access remote console.

All WebMux appliance models come with a two-year product warranty covering parts and labor with one-year product technical support and firmware updates. The Virtual WebMux Software Edition for virtualized data centers and cloud computing environments is available for 1, 3, 5, or 10GbE throughput and comes with a full year product technical support.
